CANBERRA T20 CRICKET CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2013 is an event where canberra social cricketers will be part of the Super 8 T20 Cricket's inaugural Champions Trophy to celebrate ACT's centenary year. Players who live in Canberra have made 8 teams with support from their respective High Commissions. These social cricketers will compete against each other to become the Champions. This idea comes from Super 8 T20 Cricket, and hence players who are part of Super 8 community can easily understand the concept and the enthusiasm involved in getting this major cricket event among the social cricketers up and running. 8 teams were divided into two pools of 4 teams each. Top 2 teams from each pool will compete during the Finals Day on 28th January. The following teams are participating:
1. Australian Taipans
2. Pakistan Greens
3. Pakistan Stars
4. West Indies Lions
5. Sri Lankan Lions
6. Indian Royals
7. Indian Strikers
8. Afghanistan Leopards
Everyone is invited to come to the grounds (Nicholls Ovals, Clarrie Hermes Drive, Nicholls) every Sunday from 6th January (from 11am) to support their teams and see some of the best social cricketers perform in this mega event.
