The Canberra 100 Community Tapestry is an 18 month project to design and make a large-scale woven tapestry with input from the Canberra community and celebrating Canberra’s past, present and future. The tapestry will be woven with help from the Canberra community and, when finished, will be part of the permanent art collection of the Legislative Assembly of the ACT.

Free community weaving workshops, visits and talks for community groups, school and workplaces, and opportunities to weave part of the final tapestry will run throughout 2012 and 2013. Weavers from around Australia will also participate by contributing small works to be exhibited alongside the final tapestry in 2013.

The project has been funded through the Canberra 100 Community Initiatives Fund and supported by the Legislative Assembly for the ACT.
