Jyll Bradley Residency

Tuesday, 27 September, 2011 - Wednesday, 16 November, 2011

From 22 October to 14 November 2011, Jyll will explore Canberra’s wide range of botanic delights and consider a potential botanical project for the Centenary of Canberra in 2013.

Jyll’s reputation lies not only in the beauty of the exhibitions, photographs and installations she creates around botany and flowers, but in the fact that she always creates  these works in collaboration with communities.

During her stay in Canberra she will research the rare collection of the Australian National Botanic Gardens and its commitment to sustainability of species.  She will research the opportunities presented by the new and existing Arboreti, as well as many of the gardens and nature reserves in the region.

Jyll has already indicated an interest in exploring the effects that the 2003 bushfires had on Canberra’s ecology.
