Flipart Flipart

Flipart

Friday, 12 March, 2010 to Sunday, 14 March, 2010

The circus descended on Civic on 12-14 March 2010 with the inaugural Flipart festival, a 100% free pilot event of the 2010 Canberra Festival. The day was  a celebration of circus, physical and street theatre, aerial dance and acrobatics.

A crowd of approximately 4,000 were dazzled by the physical performances as well as the fascinating roving acts, including a giant alien, a trio of pompadoured crooners, stilt-walking bugs, and a amazingly-lifelike Tyrannosaurus that terrorised City Walk. The day was closed with a open-air performance by Latin Grammy winners Los Amigos Invisibles.

Flipart generated unparalled buzz among local performance groups, with a number of these groups choosing to join and add to the day's festivities.

As a pilot event the producers would love to receive feedback on the Flipart program - this can be emailed to hola@famaservices.com.au

FlipArt is proudly sponsored by the ACT Government, Centenary of Canberra, Canberra CBD Ltd, NewActon and ACT Health.
